The primary goal of Nearby Grocery Stores is to provide detailed contact information and directions to over 100,000 grocery stores and food locations throughout the United States.
Our secondary goal is to help locate food deserts and locations that may be more susceptible to food insecurity. The plan is to use government data as well as user feedback to paint a picture of where people have the most access to the widest range of food and where people have limited access and choice. Additionally, we hope to compare local average food prices to average incomes to help locate additional area of need. This is not an exact science, but we do hope to provide those looking into food deserts and similar issues with details that are not currently readily available.
